There is a lot to love about Ibiza…gorgeous beaches, sunny weather, amazing food and DJ’s spinning summer vibes wherever you go. There are so many places in Ibiza that deliver on this formula but one of my favourites from our recent trip is Beach Babylon. Located near the town of Sant Eulalia on the east coast of the island, Beach Babylon serves up gorgeous organic food against a backdrop of turquoise water in a relaxed beach bar atmosphere.
The last time I was in Ibiza I was in my 20’s and sans kids (a very different kind of holiday) so I wasn’t sure how welcome we would be at Ibiza’s cool beach bars with our kids in tow…turns out Ibiza isn’t just for the young, hip and cool – wherever we went the kids were welcomed without a fuss (we did try and tone down the bumbling family complete with sand buckets and screaming kids and present a slightly more sophisticated version of ourselves it has to be said).
Beach Babylon’s style is pared back beachy neutral with lots of natural elements creating the perfect laid back atmosphere – sand floor, palm fringing, soft cotton drapes, driftwood canopies and woven lanterns overhead.
Beach Babylon’s kitchen produces the most delicious dishes using only organic produce. Simply executed but with plenty of flavour, we savoured the meal with a couple of chilled glasses of Rosé. After lunch, you can grab a sun lounger and spend the afternoon listening to a DJ playing laid-back beach tunes while the kids swim in the crystal clear water. Forget the mega clubs – this is Ibiza at it’s best.
Beach Babylon also has a restaurant which opens in the evening – so you could go from lunch and sun lounger straight to dinner should you so wish (lunch was where we left it – there is only so much of Mummy and Daddy pretending to be hip that the kids can take!)
