I recently came across a gallery in Singapore that represents some interesting Australian and International artists. This isn’t what we think of as a typical gallery; there is no white space with large glass windows and polished concrete floor – but don’t let this fool you. This gallery represents a dozen or more emerging and established artists who specialise in works on paper – think fine art photography, digital art and illustration to name a few, with the only difference being…this gallery is online.
With a love of Australian art I was thrilled to discover OTOMYS arthouse through an interior design friend in Singapore (it seems that those in the know are already familiar with the stylish art that OTOMYS offers).
Founded in Melbourne 5 years ago by Nikki Finch and Megan Dicks, OTOMYS has recently expanded into Singapore. The art they represent is a contemporary and affordable collection of the highest quality – printed using archival inks and papers.
If buying art online makes you feel uneasy, fear not, OTOMYS also partners with high-end retailers, such as Edit Lifestyle and Space, who can showcase the work in situ. And more recently they started holding pop-up exhibitions as well.
The great thing about buying art through a boutique gallery is you will receive great service, and OTOMYS provides advice on framing and installation, which is invaluable.
