Sometimes you just know a home is going to be beautiful by the person who owns it. I had never visited the home of Things We Love founder Tricia Morahan but I had a pretty good feeling it was going to be lovely if the gorgeous collection of fashion and homewares presented at the Things We Love pop-up shops was anything to go by. And I was not disappointed. Tricia has created a warm, stylish and inviting home that is classic and contemporary but still a bit fun. Situated in a quiet older style condo, the apartment has a large open feel with views of the treetops from every room.
Tricia, and her business partner Emma, started Things We Love just over a year ago and the homes (and wardrobes!) of Singapore expat girls have been benefitting from their beautifully curated collections ever since. Whether it is some new cushions for your sofa, hurricane lamps in copper tones, or a fabulous new summer frock, Things We Love have it covered.
Tricia’s decorating style cleverly combines a mix of antique and contemporary furniture items against a neutral colour palette. It is a well considered balance that ensures the living area is not too matchy and formal.
The dining area is light and bright with a mix of Asian influenced pieces and contemporary furniture.
An antique side board sourced in Sydney provides the perfect place to display treasures collected on trips from around the world.
Tricia runs Things We Love from home juggling her role as Mum to Joe with the demands of the business. A pin-board provides inspiration and showcases the many pop-up events Things We Love have held over the past year.
Joe’s room is styled using a classic colour palette of red, blue and white and is a beautiful mix of vintage finds and bespoke items. The patchwork bedspread was handmade in Melbourne using clothes from Joe’s first few years of life providing a wonderful reminder of the early years. Captain America oversees sleep time!
Things We Love will be holding their next fabulous pop-up event at Tanderra starting on Tuesday 26 May and running until Thursday 28 May. Grab some friends and head down to pick up some beautiful fashion, homewares and items for the kids such as Saltwater sandals and Wahu beach accessories. It is also one of the last chances to take a look at Tanderra before it becomes a member’s only club on 1 June.
