POSTCARDS FROM IBIZA

When you think of Ibiza it's hard to not conjure up a picture of a hedonistic party island...rarely do people think 'family vacay'.  But, Ibiza is an island of contrasts.  On one hand you have the 20 something party set - mohogany tanned Europeans, lobster pink Brits, tattoos, piercings, very little clothing, flirting, partying and sporting Kylie [...]

Art Prints from Hunting for George

I used to think I had enough art.  In the last house we actually had a couple of pieces sitting wrapped in boxes that we simply didn't have space for (mind you, I did come from living in a glass box - but even so...) but since we moved I am realising you can never have [...]

My Top 5 Benches and Daybeds

I bought this Moller bench from Great Dane Furniture a few years ago.  I had been eyeing this classic bench for a while because we had a stairway landing that I knew it would be perfect for.  So on a trip to Melbourne I bought it and then carefully wrapped it in bubble wrap on my parents [...]

My favourite shops for Moroccan rugs

I have become quite fixated recently with Moroccan rugs - and specifically rugs from the Boujad tribe.  I travelled to Morocco many years ago and it still remains one of my favourite destinations.  While we were there we hired a car and drove from Marrakesh into the Atlas Mountains, staying along the way at a [...]

My Byron Bay Avocado on Toast

At the beginning of the Christmas holiday period, my husband and I did a little 3 night jaunt to Byron Bay - sans kids.  We so rarely go away from the kids, mainly because we quite like our children (go figure?!) and enjoy time together as a family.  But I have to say, some time spent [...]

A new year, a new home

A new year and a new home to make our own.  For those of you that follow me over on Instagram this move has been brewing for a number of months (and you're probably quite sick of hearing me talk about it) and for those of you that don't - well, we've moved. The [...]

INSTAGRAM

Friday night...sitting at my desk editing photos, drinking beer, listening to Fiddy Cent and browsing Instagram. And then this popped up in my feed from the lovely @bowerbird_ceramics who I did some work for last year. #goshorty #itsyerberfday #completelyquestionablesong #itsfridaynight One from the cutting room floor ✁ Yesterday's shoot with my friend and new business partner Kate from @floweret_co was so much fun. After two years of working on my own it is such a joy to be bringing a new business to Singapore with someone by my side - especially when she makes me laugh this much. Can't wait to share more in the coming weeks. #staytuned @haskerphotography This week has been all about photography with two shoots done and dusted. Today is another shoot - except now I am becoming the subject...yikes not my favourite thing in the world. Seriously need to go and sort out my hair. #staytuned #excitingthingsahead #anditsnotjustfreshlywashedhair
Good backlighting from our friend the sun. This week I have had some issues with shooting in natural light - full sun / sun behind clouds / oh nope, here it is again / hang on wait now it's dark and there's a thunderstorm. And I'm still getting used to where to shoot in this house. But it's Friday - the end of the working week so it's all good. Happy Friday lovely friends ♡ This is what I grew up on. Quiche. These days no one says quiche...it's always tart. But this to me is a quiche. And it's doing double duty - bacon on one side for my son and roast sweet potato on the other for my daughter. And everyone gets a sprinkling of homegrown dill in the egg mixture for good measure. You know this can't be Singapore...there's a huge bunch of beautiful gumnut and a fireplace. Two things you'll never find on the equator. Beautiful details from our last trip home ❥
