Our Skincare Edit for Endless Summer Weather
Beauty Essentials We’re Loving
Living somewhere that is hot and humid all year round has its benefits. As a Grab driver told me the other day, while it may not be good for your hair, hello frizz, the humidity is good for your skin (and before you ask, yes, this was an odd conversation to be having with my Grab driver). Not only does the humidity keep skin hydrated, soft and supple but it also means faster regeneration. And whilst this is great, I still find the choice of beauty products that you can use lessens or at least changes from that of a dry climate. Goodbye thick luscious day creams and anything oil based which just sweats off the minute I walk outside.
Everyone is different but in this climate I really feel less is more. I have packed away my UK creams and this is what is working for me and my 'normal skin’ at the moment.
our endless summer beauty edit
A quick cleanse with (1) Paula’s Choice Resist Perfectly Balanced Foaming Cleanser followed by a pea amount of the (2) Gokujun Premium Skin Care Hyaluronic Emulsion, apply by gently patting on to the skin till thoroughly absorbed. This emulsion may seem cheap in comparison to other brands but I have found it to be just, if not more, effective.
Next up, this cooling (3) Clarins Total Eye Revive Cream which comes with a cryo-metallic tip to apply, this really helps the eye to look instantly brighter and less puffy. I love using this product.
Then the most important part of the routine, the SPF, I mix this up but at the moment I’m loving Ultra Violette, made by Aussies, who in my opinion make the BEST sunscreen. There are lots to choose from in the range but currently I'm using the (4) SPF 50 Supreme Screen hydrating facial sunscreen - it is both my moisturiser and SPF rolled into one and I rate it highly.
Finally as smells are so evocative, I'm wearing the (5) Dyptique Limited Edition Summer Fragrance Ilio, created as a fragrant tribute to the Mediterranean, this maybe harder to find online but they do still hold stock in stores, if you really want that summer feeling to never end this is definitely worth the trip in store to find one.
Last but not least, my year round all time favourite lip balm, Estée Lauder Pure Colour Replenish Lip Balm in Envy.
Wishing you all a happy week ahead.
